Creating a reliable and discreet digital experience for online anorectal care.
Bummed is a digital health company that offers online treatment for hemorrhoids, fissures, and other anorectal conditions through prescription products delivered directly to patients. Developed by digital health entrepreneurs together with a certified colorectal surgeon, the platform combines medical expertise with a direct-to-patient ecommerce model.
The challenge was to design and develop a digital experience capable of addressing a sensitive healthcare topic while guiding users through a clear and trustworthy treatment journey. The platform needed to convey medical credibility, simplify how consultations and prescriptions work, and make it easy for patients to understand and access treatment in a discreet, approachable way.
Our process
Designing a patient-centered telemedicine experience focused on trust, clarity, and accessibility.
We restructured the experience around the patient journey instead of following a traditional ecommerce flow. Rather than presenting treatments as isolated products, the platform guides users from understanding symptoms to consultation and treatment in a clear, intuitive way.
From a UX and content perspective, we focused on reducing friction and building trust. We simplified how medical information, consultations, and prescriptions are presented, balancing clinical credibility with a friendly, stigma-free tone.
Finally, we developed the platform in WordPress, creating a scalable foundation capable of supporting ecommerce operations, educational content, and future product expansion, while allowing the internal team to manage the platform efficiently.
